A little update on past events, on thursday when I left to go to my friends house for the CNSE we were hit with a wind storm, strong enough to knock over a bunch of the local pine trees and 2 big old ones. In fact we were out of power for that morning, then a big old pine tree on the corner of our street fell over, taking out electricity pole with it. ONly got power back on saturday. It was bad enough that the highways were closed down, so I couldn't get over the sky way.
So on friday I finally got to me buddies house.
And lets say the CNSE was AWESOME!!!!!!
I think what I loved most about it was that it was small, you got to know everyone a lot faster and there were no big line ups to everything and you could find things easier.
Day 1:
Got there, wandered around a bit and checked the dealers room. Actually they did something I'm not familiar with, on the second floor of the hotel they had dealers selling their stuff in their rooms. So here I am look in each open doorway thinking "Should I enter? Is this even legal?!" so after looking in one and having the person inside heard me in saying it was ok I got over my shyness XD
Also went to see Professor Elemental, oh god that guy is funny! he did a little bit about Prince Will and Kate's wedding, he had face cut outs of the two and asked two people from the audience to come up and wear them! When he put Kate's on the girl he said "Oh god that's terrifying, no seriously it's more terrifying than I originally thought."
Day 2:
This is when the fun started, the first day we had this one guy, don't know his name but he gave me and my friend his contact card that read "Secret Asian Man", do a little photo shoot with us. So today we would take two steps, then get dragged into a group for some group shot. XD it was so much fun! We ran into a guy dressed as a steampunk fireman who wanted a few pics, then afterward we just started talking so I pull out my gun and aim it at him, my friend following my lead. He throws his axe up and looks from one to the other, me and Squee(my friend) make mock shooting noises then stand back up, only to hear some people in front of us yelling "NO NO go back I didn't get a picture!"
We then wandered up to the roof to see some fire show, while waiting a guy yelled out that he wanted to get a group shot of everyone up here, so we all line up in a giant mosh pit, short people in front tall in the back. Soon after a few shots he runs in and lays down in front of us so after like 2 shots I look around and notice that everyone in the front two rows all have some type of weapon. So I pull out my gun and point it at the guy and holler, "Everyone with a gun shoot him!" hell even the little boy in front of us grabbed his gun and joined in!
And everyone at this con all have a good sense of humour and were really nice, the guy who we were all pint our guns at rolled over onto his back and struck a "Oh god I'm getting shot!" pose XD
Day 3:
Nothing to much happened this day, kinda the "Oh noes last day what to do?". I kept running to a guy I met the day before, Pirate Steve. So I promptly yelled it out whenever I say him, waved, and carried on.
Now there was one problem, apparently there was some hockey game going on and a bunch of parents and kids were staying at the hotel. Those kids and parents were assholes.
Simple as that
The kids were having hissy fits about not being able to go into the game room that the can had set up. FOR THE MEMBERS OF THE CON! so then they would go back to the parents and whine so then the parents would go to the security for the con and whine -.-
And some kids would go up to the dealers floor, one actually walked into a room and asked how much a nerf-gun-cutomed-to-look-steampunk-ish gun was, the seller told him and the kid grabbed it and started taking it apart saying "Oh I don't think it costs that much". He ran from the room before security was called.
Then on the second day all the hockey parents got drunk and crashed the dance. They then heard about the Green room, which is for all the people helping out and for dealers to chill in. At night it also serves free booze to them. So the hockey parents decided they also wanted free booze, but they couldn't find the room. They then went up to the second floor, at 4 in the morning, and knocked on EVERY SINGLE DOOR yelling about where the Green room was. They almost woke up a 4 month old baby!
I think next year everyone should reserve the WHOLE HOTEL so this doesn't happen again.
